Ever since July of 2013, Xbox players have had access to the feature known as Games With Gold. This subscription-based service allowed players to play from a select few games that would be updated every month. On July 17th of 2023, Xbox announced that there will be a major update to this system. Xbox Live Gold will be converting to the name Xbox Game Pass Core, and delivering some must-play titles with it on September 14th of 2023.

Games and Perks That Arrive with this new Game Pass

While the news of this change came earlier this year, Xbox’s Product Marketing Manager Rachel Raisin has announced that there are a few additions to their previous promises for the Xbox Game Pass Core. The subscription service used to include 25 titles for players to experience. Xbox has since then updated it to include 36 games, a whopping 11 more than before. The Game Pass will now provide titles like Firewatch, Golf with your Friends, Stardew Valley, and more. Rachel states that Xbox will be updating this library around 2-3 times a year. One can only expect even more interesting games to come in the future.

One of this Game Pass’ more exciting details is that it will cost the same as Xbox Live Gold. Subscribed players will most definitely be intrigued by this. This Game Pass will not only significantly update the service as a whole, but the Pass will also include features of Xbox Live Gold, like online multiplayer, and discounts for certain games.
